Hi there, can someone tell me what the allocation of equity is based on
I'm running a simulation on one share with a 100,000 capital, and investment of 100%
yet on its trade selection it uses only 20% rather than 100.
there is no commission settings and no money management script

price on entry is 89, so if i want to invest all 100% (rightly or wrongly :) how does it decide to allocate just 20% say reducing the shares purchased?

First when you update your trading system, check the "Long" only is selected (not Short or Long/Short).
After that check the maximum number of positions field. It must be set to 1.

Trading financial instruments, including foreign exchange on margin, carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for all investors. The high degree of leverage can work against you as well as for you. Before deciding to invest in financial instruments or foreign exchange you should carefully consider your investment objectives, level of experience, and risk appetite. The possibility exists that you could sustain a loss of some or all of your initial investment and therefore you should not invest money that you cannot afford to lose. You should be aware of all the risks associated with trading and seek advice from an independent financial advisor if you have any doubts.
